my current work assignment is a writing project. this is where i will be for the next three weeks as i force myself to concentrate. too many distractions at home!

klaas spotted these little guys on the windows. we grabbed our cameras and played national geographic photographers, but quickly learned that using flash frightens the animals.

our beloved "blue room" has served many purposes for us. ben and i slept up here for almost a year and a half before moving into our master bedroom, but now it is an impromptu guest room for a friend who is visiting this weekend. woohooo! i think this is our first official house guest. the room was full of books and boxes, which i cleared out by moving them into the other upstairs bedroom. you know how it is.

this room excites me, though. it is huge and will be a wonderful kids' room someday. i'm sure whoever lived here before us loved that two-tone paint, but painting that room a new color is on my list. oh, the possibilities!
